The Sierra Leone Roads Authority (SLRA) has announced plans to begin the installation of cross drains at the Kossor Town/Mokor Town Junction along the Regent–Jui Road, leading to a temporary partial closure of the affected area.
In a press statement issued on Monday, 25 May 2026, the Authority disclosed that the construction work will commence on Saturday, 30 May, and will impact the stretch of road between Kossor Town and Mokor Town Junction.
According to the SLRA, traffic movement will continue during the exercise, with one lane remaining open to motorists while work is carried out on the restricted section.
The drainage installation is expected to continue until 6 June 2026, while full access to normal traffic is scheduled to resume on Sunday, 7 June 2026.
Motorists travelling through the area have been encouraged to follow directions from traffic officers and make use of alternative routes where necessary to ease congestion during the construction period.
The Authority also appealed to road users for patience and cooperation, noting that the project is aimed at improving road infrastructure and drainage conditions along the corridor.
