Madam Femi Claudius Cole, leader of the Unity Party in Sierra Leone, recently held a town hall meeting in London.
The event aimed to encourage Sierra Leoneans living abroad to engage more actively in the political landscape of their home country by joining her party.
During her address, Madam Cole highlighted the importance of remote voting, advocating for the rights of Sierra Leonean diasporans to participate in national elections.
She emphasized that such measures would ensure greater representation and accountability in the political process.
Additionally, Madam Cole urged attendees to actively monitor the work of elected officials, including councillors, Members of Parliament, ministers, and local resident ministers.
She stressed that this oversight is crucial for maintaining transparency and ensuring that these officials fulfill their responsibilities to the public.
The town hall in London is part of a broader effort by the Unity Party to engage the Sierra Leonean diaspora and strengthen its support base ahead of future elections.
