President Julius Maada Bio has arrived safely in Abuja, Nigeria, where he is scheduled to deliver the keynote address at the 12th Convocation Ceremony of Baze University and engage in a series of high-level meetings aimed at strengthening regional cooperation and investment.
In a message shared online upon his arrival, President Bio stated: “This evening, I arrived in Abuja to speak at Baze University’s 12th Convocation and discuss with top African business leaders here. Looking forward to productive engagement.”
Before departing Freetown earlier today, State House officials confirmed that the President’s visit forms part of Sierra Leone’s ongoing efforts to promote education, regional collaboration, and private sector investment across Africa.
During his stay, President Bio is expected to meet influential business leaders and investors to explore opportunities in energy, agriculture, and digital development, sectors the government has prioritized for national growth.
A key highlight of the visit will be the foundation-laying ceremony for a newly remodeled postgraduate facility at Baze University. The structure will be named the “JM Bio Post-Graduate School,” in recognition of President Bio’s role in expanding access to quality education in Sierra Leone, including the implementation of the Free Quality School Education programme.
The President is expected to return to Freetown upon completion of his official engagements.
