Freetown, Sierra Leone – February 13, 2026 – The Sierra Leone Police have officially declared Zainab Sheriff wanted over allegations linked to threatening remarks, incitement, and related offences.
The move comes after statements she reportedly made during the All People’s Congress (APC) mass rally held on January 31.
Zainab Sheriff, a prominent Sierra Leonean model, actress, and artist residing in Freetown, has been identified in a police wanted notice as a suspect in an alleged case involving threatening language, incitement, and other related offenses.
She is described as an adult of dark complexion and Sierra Leonean nationality. The warrant, numbered W/A 105/2026, calls on the public to report any sightings to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) headquarters in Freetown, the nearest police station, or via phone numbers +232-80-306-232 or +232-78-583-069.
Authorities have promised a “handsome reward” for information leading to her arrest.

The allegations stem from remarks Sheriff allegedly made at an APC rally at Attouga Mini Stadium. While specific details of her statements have not been publicly disclosed by the police, sources indicate they were deemed profane and provocative, potentially inciting unrest.
This development follows a recent decision by the Political Parties Registration Commission (PPRC), which fined Sheriff NLe 150,000 for similar violations related to her comments at the rally. The PPRC’s action is part of broader efforts to regulate political discourse and prevent incitement, amid ongoing tensions between the commission and opposition parties like the APC.
Sheriff, who is affiliated with the APC, has vehemently rejected the PPRC fine, labeling it as an act of hypocrisy and intimidation.
In a statement shared on social media platforms, she announced her intention to challenge the decision in court, insisting that any accusations against her should be proven before a judge. She further warned that if the APC pays the fine on her behalf, she would pursue legal action against the party itself.
No immediate response from Sheriff regarding the police wanted notice has been reported, and APC representatives have not issued an official statement on the matter.
As of now, Sheriff’s whereabouts remain unknown, and the police have emphasized their commitment to addressing incitement-related offenses to ensure accountability under the law.
