Freetown, Sierra Leone – In a continued effort to combat the spread of kush and other illicit substances across the nation, Sierra Leone Police (SLP) officers carried out a targeted raid along Lumley Beach Road earlier today.
During the operation, authorities encountered a suspect named Yusuf Kamara, who allegedly tried to flee by leaping from a three-storey building.
The jump resulted in a broken leg for Kamara. Responding officers promptly secured the area, administered first aid, and transported him to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Following his care, Kamara was detained for questioning as part of the ongoing investigation.
The SLP emphasized its dedication to eradicating drug abuse, safeguarding public safety, and upholding the rights of suspects through appropriate medical attention and legal procedures.
Authorities are encouraging citizens to join the “Say No to Kush” initiative and to report any suspected drug-related activities. “Together, we keep our communities SAFE,” the SLP stated in a public appeal.
