Goderich, 8 July 2025 — Officers from the Adonkia Police Station have arrested Osman Kamara of Regent Road, Lumley, following a targeted raid on Tuesday evening that uncovered suspected narcotics and drug manufacturing materials.
Kamara was detained after police found a rolling suitcase in his possession containing items believed to be linked to the production and distribution of the synthetic drug commonly known as KUSH.
Among the seized materials were three white plastic bags filled with dried leaves suspected to be KUSH, a white rubber container with a liquid thought to be a chemical used in the drug’s production, and other drug-related paraphernalia.
Authorities also recovered red rubber gloves, a used electronic scale, three cups labeled “synthetic food colour,” a bottle containing an unknown liquid substance, adhesive tape, and three face masks—items typically associated with small-scale drug labs.
This operation is part of a broader crackdown led by the Regional Police Commander for Freetown West, AIG Sylvester M. N. Koroma, who has recently spearheaded multiple successful operations in areas including Taylor Street and Toke, where makeshift drug labs were dismantled.
AIG Koroma emphasized the police’s continued dedication to fighting drug trafficking and maintaining public safety.
The suspect has provided a statement to investigators, and all exhibits are currently in police custody as the investigation continues.
The Sierra Leone Police reiterates its appeal for community cooperation in the ongoing fight against drugs and criminal activity.
