The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has appointed former national team captain Mohamed Kallon as the new head coach of the Leone Stars.
The announcement was made by SLFA’s Head of Media and Marketing, Ibrahim Kamara, who stated, “The Executive Committee of the Sierra Leone Football Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Mohamed Kallon as Head Coach of the Sierra Leone National Senior Men’s Team, Leone Stars.”
Kallon, widely regarded as one of Sierra Leone’s most celebrated footballers, is set to lead the national team as they prepare for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. The Leone Stars are scheduled to face Guinea Bissau and Egypt next month under Kallon’s leadership.
Reflecting on his new role, Kallon expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I am honored to lead the Leone Stars and am committed to bringing success to our nation.”
The SLFA has announced that an official unveiling of Mohamed Kallon will take place at a press conference, with the date to be announced later.
