Police personnel deployed at the Fallah Checkpoint in Bo have arrested one Lansana Sheriff, a resident of No. 30 Tucker Street, Kenema, for alleged possession of substances believed to be Cannabis Sativa.
According to police sources, the arrest took place at approximately 12:40 p.m. when Sheriff, who was travelling onboard an Opel commercial vehicle from Hastings en route to Kenema, was intercepted during a routine security check.
Upon inspection, officers discovered two jerry cans (five-gallon containers) filled with dried leaves strongly suspected to be Cannabis Sativa.
The suspect and the exhibits are currently in police custody, while the Transnational Organized Crime Unit (TOCU), Regional Headquarters Bo, has launched an investigation into the matter.
