Sierra Leone’s Inspector General of Police, William Fayia Sellu, has issued a stern warning against the proliferation of illicit drugs in the country, specifically targeting the use of kush.
In a recent address, Sellu declared a “War on Drugs,” labeling drug addiction as “a national emergency” and drug abuse as “public enemy number one.”
Sellu emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating, “We need to act fast now before it becomes too late. This generation is under attack, and we must attack back.”
He called for strict measures to combat the spread of kush and other narcotics, proposing that drug use be treated as a criminal offense.
“We should hold people accountable for bringing Kush into Sierra Leone,” Sellu asserted.
He urged citizens to demand government action, advocating for the enactment of laws to ban kush and harsh penalties for those involved in its distribution or possession.
“Anyone caught selling it or having it at their disposal should face the law, and they should not be compromised, even if they hold positions of authority,” Sellu declared.
The Inspector General’s impassioned plea underscores the gravity of the situation and the determination of law enforcement to tackle drug-related crime head-on.
Sierra Leone braces itself for a stringent crackdown on kush as authorities vow to uphold the rule of law and safeguard the nation’s future.
The statement is well encouraging, but looking forward to the sustainable actions making a lingering potion of favorite individuals on Kush Carter dealers.
Hope for a radical transformation of our young people.
