In a significant operation at the Njagbahun Checkpoint in Fakunya Chiefdom, Moyamba District, four men were arrested by police during a routine inspection led by Inspector Milton Matturie, Officer in Charge of the checkpoint.
The operation took place when officers stopped a black and red TVS motorbike, registration number ATI 874, and discovered two disassembled single-barrel shotguns concealed within a white rice bag as the suspects attempted to pass through the checkpoint.
The suspects have been identified as Mohammed Bangura and Ibrahim Turay, both from Levuma Village in Kaiyamba Chiefdom, along with Idrisa Koroma and Morlai Kargbo, residents of Mashacteh Village in Yoni Chiefdom.
During questioning, the men indicated they were traveling from Mashacteh Village to Levuma Village.
The suspects, along with the seized firearms and the motorbike, were subsequently transported to the Regional Criminal Investigation Department in Bo City for further investigation.
