The Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) has addressed claims circulating on social media, asserting that a customer, Charles Lebbie of 7 Hill View Drive, Off Regent Road, was allegedly cheated out of electricity units.
Mr. Lebbie contends that he received only seven units for a purchase of One hundred new Leones (NLe. 100).
EDSA officials conducted a thorough review of Mr. Lebbie’s receipt and his historical purchase data.
“Our records indicate that Mr. Lebbie has not purchased electricity for over six months,” stated an EDSA spokesperson. According to EDSA, Mr. Lebbie’s last transaction was on December 20, 2023.

EDSA explained that Mr. Lebbie’s recent receipt included a service charge of NLe. 66, representing six months of arrears at NLe. 11 per month.
Additionally, a Goods and Services Tax of NLe. 4.43 was deducted, leaving a balance of NLe. 29.57. “This remaining balance was used to purchase seven units, which is correct for this tariff category,” the spokesperson clarified.
“After a detailed review of Mr. Lebbie’s receipt and his purchase history, we find his allegations to be baseless and without merit,” EDSA stated. The Authority has invited Mr. Lebbie to visit their headquarters at 36 Siaka Stevens Street for further clarification and to discuss his extended period without electricity purchases.
EDSA encourages all customers with concerns to contact their offices or customer service at 672. “We are committed to transparency and are here to address any issues our customers may have,” the EDSA spokesperson emphasized.
