Freetown – The ongoing cyberstalking and cyberbullying case involving Marwan Malador has been temporarily adjourned after prosecutors requested more time to present key evidence.
The matter came up before a magistrate court where Malador, represented by legal counsel, faces accusations of circulating defamatory content on social media platforms, including Facebook and YouTube.
The allegations were brought forward by Brigadier General Albert Sylvester Bockarie, who testified that Malador released a video making damaging claims against the complainant, Mr. Ramking Jacob Smith, and others. The video allegedly accused them of conspiring to defraud him of US\$50,000 and unlawfully obtaining seven U.S. passports.
Bockarie, a military officer attached to defense headquarters, told the court that the video caused him emotional distress and physical discomfort.
He explained that he identified the content, saved it on a flash drive, and later handed it over to police investigators as evidence.
The prosecution sought an adjournment to enable the judiciary’s information technology department to display the video for identification purposes. The defense, however, successfully applied for bail under Section 79(2) of the Criminal Procedure Act.
The court granted Malador bail set at Le50,000 with sureties, noting that the accused has not attempted to evade justice.
The case is expected to resume on September 2, 2025, when the prosecution is scheduled to present the video evidence.
