Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Alpha Sesay, on Friday held a high-level dialogue with senior officials of the All People’s Congress (APC) as part of ongoing efforts to build consensus around Sierra Leone’s constitutional and electoral reforms.
The meeting, which took place at the Guma Building in Freetown, is one of several engagements the Government has initiated to encourage bipartisan cooperation on key national issues.
Officials described the discussions as constructive and focused on ensuring that ongoing reform processes are transparent and inclusive.
In his remarks, Mr. Sesay highlighted the shared responsibility of political actors to support a credible constitutional review and uphold the recommendations of the Tripartite Committee.
He stressed that both the Government and the APC acknowledge the importance of people-centred reforms that reflect the aspirations of citizens.
He noted that national processes of this scale must be broadly participatory to strengthen public trust in democratic institutions.
“The Government looks forward to continuing these engagements with all parties. We will do this for Sierra Leone,” he said.
Dialogue between the two sides is expected to continue over the coming weeks as the country pushes forward with efforts to deepen democratic governance and secure wider agreement on key policy changes.
