The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has announced that free transportation will once again be made available for fans traveling to Monrovia, Liberia, to cheer on the Leone Stars in their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Burkina Faso on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at the Samuel K. Doe Stadium.
The initiative, spearheaded by SLFA President Babadi Kamara and supported by the Executive Committee, follows the success of a similar gesture earlier this year.
On that occasion, four buses were made available. This time, the number has been expanded to ten — with two buses allocated per region — ensuring that more supporters can make the journey.
According to the SLFA, all buses will converge at the Southern Arena in Bo, which will serve as the central departure point. Fans are expected to leave at 9:00 a.m. on matchday, regroup at the Colony Hotel in Monrovia for meals and ticket distribution, and then head to the stadium.
After the match, supporters will return to the hotel before departing back to Sierra Leone. The final drop-off point will again be the Southern Arena.
Seats are being offered on a first-come, first-served basis and are expected to fill quickly. Regional coordinators have been assigned to handle bookings for fans across the country.
President Kamara emphasized that the initiative is about bringing Sierra Leoneans together behind the national team: “Leone Stars deserve the full backing of their supporters, no matter where they play. This is about uniting the nation through football.”
With the team’s recent form raising hopes of qualification, the SLFA is urging all fans to seize the opportunity and be part of what could be a historic night for Sierra Leonean football.
