The Sierra Leone Police, through its INTERPOL National Central Bureau in Freetown, have apprehended Musa Jalloh, a fugitive wanted in Guinea for murder and armed robbery.
Authorities report that Jalloh is accused of killing a Guinean national and stealing a 2024 Toyota Range Rover on April 12, 2025, before crossing into Sierra Leone to evade capture. His arrest came after a critical intelligence tip was received via INTERPOL’s I24/7 communication network.
Detective Chief Superintendent Jenevieve Tity Cowan, head of INTERPOL’s Freetown bureau, confirmed that coordinated operations, involving the Counter-Terrorism and Cyber Units, successfully tracked and intercepted Jalloh within Freetown.
She noted that the fugitive was taken into custody without resistance and that the stolen vehicle has been recovered.
Jalloh remains in police custody as extradition procedures are underway to return him to Guinea to face trial.
CSP Cowan highlighted the operation as a shining example of effective international collaboration against cross-border crime, stressing the critical role of partnerships in safeguarding communities and enforcing the rule of law.
In a statement, the Guinean Police Chief lauded the Sierra Leone Police for their swift response, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to justice.
