Freetown, 16 December 2025 — Nineteen officers of the Sierra Leone Police have been officially called to the Bar after successfully completing the required academic and professional training.
Among those admitted is the Head of Media, Public Relations and Sports of the SLP, Assistant Commissioner of Police Brima Kamara. The officers were formally inducted on Tuesday, marking a major professional milestone in their careers.
The achievement highlights the Police force’s continued investment in education and capacity building, as more officers combine law enforcement duties with advanced legal training.
The growing number of legally trained officers is expected to strengthen rights-based policing, improve legal compliance, and enhance service delivery across the country.
Police leadership has repeatedly encouraged personnel to pursue higher education and professional qualifications, stressing that a knowledgeable and skilled workforce is essential for public confidence, effective policing and respect for the rule of law.
The latest call to the Bar further reflects the ongoing transformation of the Sierra Leone Police into a modern, professional and knowledge-driven institution aligned with contemporary law enforcement standards.
