Freetown, Sierra Leone — The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) has announced a series of arrests made in recent weeks as part of ongoing nationwide operations targeting the sale and distribution of Kush and other illegal substances.
During a recent police briefing in Freetown, senior officers highlighted recent successes in apprehending suspects, including civilians and law enforcement personnel, allegedly caught with quantities of suspected Kush.
According to police records, on Sunday, 12th October 2025, officers deployed along the Peninsula-Goderich axis arrested two police personnel — BC 21144 Thomas Anthony Momoh and PC 2274 Abu Hadi — after both were allegedly found in possession of suspected Kush.
In another operation on Wednesday, 15th October 2025, law enforcement agents apprehended an embalmment worker, identified as Stella Buruma of Kole Compound, Aberdeen. She was allegedly found with 239 wraps of dried leaves believed to be Kush.
Further arrests were made on Monday, 3rd November 2025, involving Sergeant 14483 Musa Sirike Zuwari of the 99 Police Barracks. He was detained after being allegedly found with 284 wraps of dried leaves and 15 sachets of suspected Kush pending forensic examination.
Additional suspects arrested in separate operations include:
* Aaron Brenard, found with 541 wraps of suspected Kush.
* Mohamed Sissé, found with 100 wraps.
* Asad Al-Sissé, found with 225 wraps.
* Sama Gourma, found with 131 wraps of suspected Kush and several sachets of Tramadol.
All suspects are currently in police custody as forensic testing and case preparations continue. Authorities say the cases will be fast-tracked under the country’s strengthened policies against drug trafficking and abuse.
The police reiterated that the public remains a key partner in the fight against the illegal drug trade and encouraged citizens to report suspicious activity through the free emergency hotline 900, available across major mobile networks.
A police spokesperson emphasized that recent arrests signal a firm stance:
“Anyone involved in the sale or distribution of Kush will face the full force of the law.”
