The BERSAM Charity Foundation was officially launched on Saturday 4 April 2026, at the Divine Academy Senior Secondary School in Freetown. The Launching ceremony was a colorful and impactful ceremony, marked by a generous cash donation to school pupils as part of its commitment to supports education and community development.
The launch ceremony, held in a vibrant atmosphere with community leaders, educators, parents, and well-wishers in attendance, highlighted the Foundation’s mission to uplift underprivileged children and provide them with the resources needed to succeed academically.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Founder of BERSAM Charity Foundation Zainab Denton popularly known as F.A.T emphasized the organization’s dedication to empowering young minds through education. “We believe that every child deserves access to quality education and the basic tools necessary to achieve their dreams. Today’s donation is just the beginning of many impactful initiatives to come,” she stated. Zainab Denton further by noting that the foundation has been in existence for over five years, and has been doing many donations across Sierra Leone before she decided to officially launch the foundation.
As part of the launch activities, selected school pupils received cash donations aimed at supporting their parents/Guidance, The beneficiaries, visibly excited and grateful, expressed appreciation for the timely intervention, noting that the support would significantly ease the burden on their families.
One of the guest speaker for the event Lorraine King also lauded the initiative, describing it as a meaningful contribution to improving educational outcomes. “This gesture will go a long way in encouraging these pupils to stay focused on their studies. We hope to see more people follow this example,” he said. Lorraine King ended by encouraging sierra Leoneans to be honest, noting that if the project coordinator for the foundation has not been honest the foundation will not have done much, since the founder is not staying in Sierra Leone.
Philip Tarawalie one of the community stakeholder present at the event praised the Foundation for its forward-thinking approach and commitment to social responsibility. He called for continued collaboration between charitable organizations, government institutions, and local communities to address the challenges facing education.
Whiles narrating on the benefits of charity from the Holy Quran the Chief Executive officer of Sabiquoun Orphanage Home Tamba Yambasu, revealed that Charity is the best thing that can safe someone next world.
He further says that the official launch not only marks the beginning of the Foundation’s journey but also serves as a beacon of hope for many children in need of educational support. With its clear vision and strong community backing, the BERSAM Charity Foundation is poised to make a lasting impact. Tamba Yambasu pledge his support to the foundation at all time and later donated $100 to the founder.
