History was made in Masiaka as Sheikh Alhaji Mohammed “Omodu” Kamara, popularly known as Jagaban, inaugurated a newly constructed All Peoples Congress (APC) party office—the first in the town in over 30 years. The project was fully spearheaded and funded by Jagaban himself.
The inauguration began with interfaith prayers led by Comrades Zakaria Bangura and Mummy Gilo, reflecting the APC’s commitment to inclusivity and unity.
Constituency 072 Chairman, Comrade Hassan Kamara, welcomed guests and commended Jagaban for his unwavering support to the district. Port Loko District Chairman, Comrade Alie Sumah, also praised Jagaban’s numerous contributions, which include a NLe 2 billion soft loan fund for APC women, educational sponsorships, financial assistance to religious leaders, and weekly food distributions to the Muslim community.
The event drew several APC dignitaries from across Sierra Leone, reinforcing national party unity. Comrade Alie Sumah further emphasized Jagaban’s development work in the district—such as funding a cold room and ice-making facility, constructing both a mosque and a church, providing school fee support for underprivileged children, and fully financing the new party office. He noted that Jagaban’s active involvement and leadership stand unmatched among current APC flagbearer aspirants.
District Women’s Leader, Councillor Haja Yapate Sankoh, expressed heartfelt appreciation on behalf of the women of Port Loko, especially for the NLe 2 billion loan fund. Her gratitude was conveyed through traditional songs and dances, showcasing the transformative impact of Jagaban’s philanthropy on grassroots women.
The Spokesperson of the Jagaban Movement, Comrade Gibrill Saidu “Buzzom” Kamara, outlined Jagaban’s nationwide contributions to the APC. These include a fully owned party office in Bonthe, rental payments for the Bo office secured until 2030, and substantial financial support to party offices in Kambia, Karene, and Falaba. He also announced plans to construct a modern APC office in Kono—further evidence of Jagaban’s national reach and commitment.
In his keynote address, Jagaban expressed humility and gratitude, stating: “My people, thank you all. We are not here today mainly for a campaign; we are here to celebrate. After more than three decades, we finally have a standard APC party office in Masiaka. This is a moment of pride and unity for all of us.”
He also reaffirmed his deep-rooted connection to Port Loko, Blama, Tonkolili, the South-East, and the diaspora. Reiterating his loyalty to the APC, Jagaban pledged to support any qualified flagbearer if he is not chosen to lead—placing party unity and the 2028 electoral victory above personal ambition.
Appealing to delegates to vote for him in as the APC flagbearer 2026, he declared:”t is in my DNA to serve the APC. I am always ready to do more for the people of Sierra Leone.”
He also unveiled plans to establish a purified water factory in Masiaka to create jobs and improve access to clean water for local residents.
Acting National Chairman, Ambassador Foday Yaseneh, acknowledged Jagaban’s unparalleled contributions and noted that the APC had lacked a party office in Masiaka for over 30 years. He commended Jagaban for his visionary leadership and unwavering loyalty to the party.
The official handover of the building keys was conducted in a symbolic three-stage process: first, from the builder to the Northwest Regional Chairman, Hon. Kobor Kamara; then to the Acting National Chairman, Ambassador Foday Yaseneh; and finally to the District Chairman, Comrade Alie Sumah.
Hon. A.K.K delivered the vote of thanks, commending all attendees and contributors. The day was celebrated as a transformative moment for Masiaka and a historic milestone for the APC across Sierra Leone.
