Former Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) president, Isha Johansen, has lost her seat in the FIFA Council following elections held in Cairo during the 14th CAF Extraordinary General Assembly.
Johansen, who was elected to the prestigious council on March 12, 2021, failed to secure enough votes to retain her position. She finished at the bottom of the voting tally with just seven votes.
The election saw Morocco’s Fouzi Lekjaa emerge as the top candidate with 49 votes, followed by Egypt’s Hani Aboo Ridha and Niger’s Djibrilla Hima, who both secured 35 votes.

12. Isha Johansen (Sierra Leone) – 7 votes
Johansen’s tenure as SLFA president concluded in 2021 when she chose not to seek re-election, focusing instead on her role within FIFA.
Her exit from the FIFA Council marks a significant change in Sierra Leone’s representation in international football administration.
