Freetown, Sierra Leone – In a significant shake-up within the Sierra Leonean government, the Deputy Secretary, who also serves as the Secretary to the Cabinet and Head of the Civil Service, announced on Thursday, August 29th, 2024, a comprehensive list of new administrative postings.

– Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation: Mr. Tamba Juana has been promoted to Deputy Director General.
– Ministry of Finance: Mr. Abu Bakarr Majid-Sesay has been appointed as Deputy Secretary.
– Ministry of Defence: Mr. Gilbert Cooper has taken over as Director General, replacing Mr. Mohamed B. Daboh, who has been reassigned.
– Ministry of Health: Mr. Andrew Sorie has been appointed as Permanent Secretary, succeeding Mr. Prince E. O. Cole.
– Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education: Mr. Brima M. Sowa is the new Permanent Secretary, replacing Mr. Brima S.T. Kebbie.
These new assignments extend across various sectors, including the Ministries of Agriculture, Environment, Fisheries, and Trade, among others. Each appointment represents a strategic move to enhance governance and service delivery within the country.
Notable shifts include Mr. Andrew Saennie Kamara’s new role as Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Information & Civic Education, and Ms. Aminata Sannoh’s elevation to act as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Gender and Children’s Affairs.
