Excitement is building across the streets of Freetown as global Afrobeats sensation Davido, the undisputed “King of Afrobeats,” gears up to bring his electrifying 5ive Alive Tour 2025 to Sierra Leone for the very first time.
The tour, celebrating Davido’s freshly released fifth studio album 5IVE, promises an unforgettable night of high-energy rhythms, cultural fusion, and non-stop vibes when the superstar touches down in Freetown on December 21 at a venue not yet announced.
For Sierra Leone music lovers, this isn’t just a concert, it’s a homecoming. Davido, born David Adedeji Adeleke, has long been a household name in West Africa, blending infectious Afrobeats with R&B, Reggaeton, and Dancehall influences that resonate deeply with Sierra Leone’s vibrant music scene. His latest album 5IVE, dropped earlier this year, has shattered streaming records with over 5 billion global streams across his career, featuring powerhouse collabs like Musa Keys, Becky G, Omah Lay, and Shenseea. Tracks like “Offa Me” and Grammy-nominated “Sensational” (his fourth nod for Best African Music Performance) are already blasting from Lumley Beach speakers to Aberdeen Market stalls, hyping up fans for what’s shaping up to be the biggest music event of the year.
The 5ive Alive Tour kicked off strong in June with a sold-out kickoff in Brussels, Belgium, before storming North America—hitting hotspots like New Orleans (July 5), San Francisco (July 12), Houston (July 17), and Brooklyn (July 31). Now, as the tour pivots to Africa, Davido is delivering on his promise to reconnect with the continent that birthed the sound.
Sierra Leone’s slot on December 21 slots perfectly into a powerhouse African leg that includes Uyo, Nigeria (October 26); Enugu, Nigeria (November 1); and closes out with Lagos, Nigeria (December 25) and Cotonou, Benin Republic (December 28). Fresh off shutting down Enugu’s stadium last weekend. where fans raved about surprise guest appearances and a two-hour set of hits—Davido is set to bring that same fire to Freetown.
Davido himself teased the African dates on social media last week: “The #5iveAliveTour touches down in Africa to wrap up an incredible year. Grateful for the love, let’s keep making history. More countries coming soon. Tickets available now!” The Afrobeats sensation posted on Instagram, along with a flyer with scheduled dates for cities to be performed in.
