Freetown, 22nd October 2025 — The administration of Prince of Wales (POW) Senior Secondary School has indefinitely suspended several students involved in a violent assault on a fellow pupil, an incident that has sparked widespread outrage after footage of the attack went viral on social media.
The disturbing video shows a group of students beating a younger classmate, identified as Emmanuel, on the school compound.
The victim, described by Principal George Abiodun Lefevie as “a very small boy,” was allegedly attacked by members of a student clique known as The C’s.
Principal Lefevie said he was alerted to the incident by the President of the POW Old Boys Association after the video circulated online.
Two teachers had already intervened and identified both the victim and one of the main culprits, Joseph Kallon, who later disclosed the names of four other participants.
“All the boys involved have been suspended indefinitely,” Lefevie confirmed. “This is a clear message that violence has no place in our school.”
The school’s internal disciplinary team, dubbed the Scorpion Squad and led by senior teacher Mr. Dauda Marrah, has launched a full investigation. Once concluded, all implicated students and their parents will receive formal letters of suspension.
Lefevie emphasized that the case would be referred to the police following the school’s internal process.
He also issued a strong warning against gang-like student groups, stressing that POW remains committed to discipline, moral conduct, and zero tolerance for violence.
