Sierra Leone has secured the 20th position in a recent global ranking assessing individual freedoms across 210 countries and territories.
The report, conducted by Freedom House, evaluated various aspects of freedom, including the right to vote, freedom of expression, and equality before the law.
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in 1948, underscores the importance of fundamental freedoms for citizens worldwide.
Article 2 of the Declaration emphasizes that everyone is entitled to these rights without any distinction, such as race, color, or political opinion.
Sierra Leone’s placement among the top 20 is a call for concerns of citizens as they are enjoying less freedom level compared to other nations.
In a ranking of 210 countries and territories, a report by Freedom House examined individual freedoms—ranging from the right to vote to freedom of expression and equality before the law.
