In a bid to ensure the smooth continuation of operations within the Tripartite Committee, the Government of Sierra Leone has invited the leader of the main opposition party, All People’s Congress (APC), Dr. Samura Wilson Kamara to a crucial meeting regarding Resolution (3) of the Agreement for National Unity.
The invitation, extended to Dr. Kamara, underscores the significance of addressing key issues surrounding the ongoing activities of the committee. Resolution (3) of the Agreement, establishing a Three-way Committee comprising the Government of Sierra Leone, the APC, and Development Partners, has been in operation since January 2024 and is slated to conclude its activities by June 2024.
Scheduled for Thursday, May 2nd, 2024, at 11:00 am, the meeting will assemble two lead negotiators, three co-chairs, and various committee members.
The gathering aims to review progress achieved thus far and tackle any lingering concerns or new developments, including the proposal for an “Expanded Committee” meeting.
The Conference Room at the Office of the Chief Minister, State House, Freetown, will serve as the venue for this pivotal discussion, marking a concerted effort among political stakeholders to uphold the principles of national unity and collaborative governance.
