The Pharmacy Board of Sierra Leone (PBSL) has raised concerns about the circulation of a herbal product named COCO SAMBA in the local market.
PBSL raiswd these concerns in a public notice issued today, 29 November 2023.
The product, produced by BULLION GO-NEATGLOBAL LIMITED, claims to contain water, Aloe vera extract, and caramel.
According to PBSL, the product has not been registered, and therefore, its quality and safety cannot be guaranteed.
The board states, “PBSL has not registered this product, and the public is advised against its use due to uncertainties regarding its safety and efficacy.”
To address these concerns, samples of COCO SAMBA have been collected for thorough quality control analyses, and an investigation is currently underway. The outcome of PBSL’s investigation will be communicated to the public in due course.
In light of this development, PBSL urges the public to refrain from using the product until further notice.
