Pademba Road Magistrate’s Court No.1, 29th October, 2023: Principal Magistrate Mark Ngegba has committed Abdul Kamara, widely known as ‘Bigitel,’ along with Ishmael Koroma and Sallieu Bangura to the High Court, denying them bail.
Bigitel, residing at 3D Kamanda Farm, Mamba Ridge, Kissy in Freetown’s east end, was recently declared a Drug Kingpin by Sierra Leone Police.
They stand accused of unlawful possession of a prohibited drug, violating Section 8(a) of the National Drug Control Act, 2008, Act No. 10 of 2008.
The allegations date back to Saturday, 23rd September 2023, when Bigitel was discovered in possession of 181 wraps of Kush, weighing 20.0 grams, without lawful authorization, in Mamba Ridge, Kissy within the Freetown Judicial District of Sierra Leone.
The two co-accused, Ishmael Koroma of 78B Mamba Ridge, Kissy, and Sallieu Bangura of 7B Mamba Ridge, Kissy, were also found in possession of 152.6 grams of Kush on the same date in the same location.
Furthermore, they were in possession of a high-risk drug, one sachet of Ecstasy weighing 20.2 grams, without lawful authorization. Additionally, they had a loose quantity of Cannabis Sativa, also known as Djamba, weighing 15.8 grams without lawful authority.
The three accused individuals faced a total of seven counts in court today and have been remanded in custody at the Pademba Road Correctional Centre in Freetown.
