Several suspects have been identified as Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone, is grappling with a series of violent outbursts that have disrupted campus peace over the past three nights.
In response, the College’s administration has initiated disciplinary hearings to address the situation.
In a statement issued by Deputy Registrar Brima Bah, the college has identified several alleged perpetrators based on available evidence. These individuals have been summoned to appear before the College Discipline Committee for further investigation and potential disciplinary action.
The named suspects include:
Mohamed Beloski Kamara, Year 2, Law
Mohamed Denis Kargbo, also known as Colonel, Year 1, Diploma in Legal Studies
Daniel Khalil Kamara, Year 4, Law
Additionally, a non-student named Samuel Lahai, who claimed to have fallen from a balcony at the Male Hostels, was taken to the College Clinic. Investigations revealed that Lahai is not a current student, having dropped out of his B.Sc. Geology course. He admitted to being on campus to ‘talk’ to other students. Following treatment, he was issued a Police Medical and transferred to the Police Hospital for further inquiries.
The College Discipline Committee is expected to publish a more comprehensive list of identified current students involved in the disturbances. This will aid in a swift resolution of the cases presented.
“We call on all bona fide students to go about their normal activities and be assured of full security on Campus as we take action to weed out those who are bent on disturbing the peace on Campus,” Bah stated.
The administration urges the campus community to cooperate fully with the ongoing investigations to restore calm and order.
