In the aftermath of the regrettable assault on Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority’s (EDSA) network infrastructure at Freetown 161 Station, resulting in damage to accessories connected to transformer two and subsequent reduced supply capacity, the EDSA management issues an update.
The Management of EDSA states, “Maintenance and repair works have been successfully concluded, marking a significant milestone in restoring full operational capacity.”
To ensure optimal performance of the impacted transformer, technical requirements dictate the filling of the repaired transformer with 15,000 liters of purified oil. The purification process is underway to enhance operational efficiency and prevent future breakdowns.
The Authority reports, “The purification process is in progress and is anticipated to conclude within the next day or two.”
Amidst these challenges, EDSA appeals to its valued customers for patience and understanding. The Authority assures, “Upon completion of the purification process, normal supply will be restored with an additional 27 Megawatts.”
The Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority remains committed to delivering reliable and efficient electricity services to the public.
