Freetown, Sierra Leone – The High Court of Sierra Leone has placed an interim injunction on Mrs. Admire Jalloh (née Bio), widely known as the “Mama of Freetown,” barring her from publishing or circulating any material considered defamatory against Dr. Turad Senesie, Minister of Lands, Housing and Country Planning.
The order, handed down on Friday, 5th September 2025, by Justice Andrew Samuel Curtis Johnson, follows an ex-parte motion filed by Dr. Senesie.
The court’s directive restrains Mrs. Jalloh and anyone acting on her behalf from releasing or reposting any potentially libelous content in the media or on social platforms until the matter is formally heard.
In addition, the ruling requires that the notice of motion and its supporting affidavit be served on the defendant in preparation for the next hearing, scheduled for Wednesday, 10th September 2025.
While no order on costs was issued, the case highlights the judiciary’s growing involvement in addressing defamation claims and online disputes between public officials and private individuals.
