Magistrate Mustapha Brima Jah of Pademba Road Court No. 1 has ordered the committal of former ward coordinator Mohamed Sanu and clergyman Pastor Kelly Marrah to the High Court to stand trial on allegations of *misprision of treason*.
The two appeared before the court on Monday, 10th November 2025, over accusations that they knowingly failed to report information connected to an alleged treason plot involving Daniel Keleh Mansaray, widely known as “Ceaser,” and others. According to prosecutors, the alleged concealment occurred between 26th November 2023 and 26th July 2025 in Freetown.
State Counsel Yusuf Isaac Sesay informed the court that the prosecution had closed its case after presenting its witnesses, thus clearing the procedural path for the matter to be transferred to the High Court.
Announcing his decision, Magistrate Jah said he had carefully reviewed all evidence presented during the preliminary hearings and was satisfied that a prima facie case had been established.
He then ordered that both Sanu and Marrah be remanded at the Male Correctional Facility pending their appearance in the High Court.
The case is expected to be scheduled for its first High Court sitting in the coming weeks.
