Sierra Leone forward Mohamed Buya Turay has taken to social media to address a recent controversy involving him and rapper Boss LAJ
In a candid post, Turay responded to allegations circulating online, stating, “Good morning, everyone in Sierra Leone! I woke up this morning to messages on WhatsApp about fake accounts attacking someone I don’t even know anymore or trying to ruin someone’s reputation out of hatred.”
Turay emphasized that he is often targeted by enemies seeking to damage his reputation. “I have many enemies who want to bring me down or paint me as a bad person in society,” he said. “Some people may have seen a video of me abusing women and assumed that’s the real me, but I won’t dwell on that issue anymore.”
Firmly distancing himself from the fake accounts, Turay declared, “I want to make it clear once and for all: I am Mohamed Buya Turay, and those fake accounts using my name are not created by me. I’m not behind them.”
He also expressed his trust in divine justice, saying, “I leave it to God to deal with whoever is behind those fake accounts spreading lies about me, causing people to tarnish my name. May they experience the hardships of life for eternity.”
Turay concluded his post by urging his followers to focus on more important matters. “I have many important things to focus on in my life instead of being associated with fake or ghost accounts.”
In a direct message to rapper Boss LAJ, Turay added, “Hey @LAJ, just so you know, I would never pull something like that on you or anyone else. Can you tag him for me? Let’s spread some love to a brother.”
The football star’s statement comes amid growing concerns over online impersonation and the impact of social media on personal reputations.
