The Attorney General and Minister of Justice Mohamed Lamin Tarawally has said in Freetown that ten, additional military personnel will soon be charged to Court for Treason and other related offences. This will make the total of military officers thirty seven (37).
Addressing journalists at a news conference at his Lamina Sankoh Street Office today Friday January 19th 2024, the Attorney General said they now have sufficient evidence to charge them to Court.
He disclosed that a total of 46 suspects including 30 Civilians, 7 retired police and 5 retired military and 4 Correctional Service Officers have been released on bail pending the ongoing investigation.
He said all those charged for Treason and other related offences were based on the evidenced adduced from the investigation.
He said 40 suspects including 27 military officers and 13 Civilians have been charged to Court on various offences.
