ACC Extends Deadline for Asset Declaration by Public Officers
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has in a statement issued today officially announced the extension of the deadline for the declaration of income, assets, and liabilities by public officers.
This extension comes in light of the statutory deadline passing on March 31, 2024, as specified under Section 119(4) of the Anti-Corruption Act 2008 (as Amended in 2019).
The new deadline is set for on or before April 30, 2024, providing a vital opportunity for public officers to fulfill their legal obligations as mandated by Section 119(1) of the Anti-Corruption Act 2008 (as Amended in 2019).
Failure to comply with this requirement is deemed as default, subjecting the individuals to administrative sanctions outlined in Section 122A(1) of the Amendment.
These sanctions include withholding salary, suspension, and eventual dismissal for prolonged non-compliance.
The ACC emphasizes that any challenges faced by public officers in completing the declaration form should be promptly communicated to ensure swift resolution.
For assistance or further inquiries, individuals can reach out to Sylvanus Blake, the Public Relations Officer, at +232-78-832131 or via email at info@anticorruption.gov.sl.
This extension underscores the ACC’s commitment to upholding transparency and combating corruption within public institutions.
